The Lalanne Foundation was founded to meet the educational needs of Haitian children. Since 2008, we have helped many uneducated and impoverished families so that the next generation has the opportunities they deserve.

Each year, we continue to grow as a non-profit organization to help more people. Now, our focus is not only on educating Haitians. We are also expanding to provide medical supplies and improve healthcare infrastructure in Haiti. Listed below are the projects we are actively working on.

Shipment of Medical Supplies

In the midst of the coronavirus outbreak, Haiti suffered another catastrophic earthquake on August 14, 2021. When The Lalanne Foundation’s Board of Directors became aware of this new development, they knew it was time to provide medical help to Haitians.

Our first shipment of medical supplies was delivered on November 8, 2021. We partnered with Providence Health Medical Surplus Recovery Organization (MSRO), which donated free medical supplies to Haiti. We were able to ship 34 boxes of essential medical supplies to Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti.

In June 2022, Mission Hospital, part of the Providence Healthcare System, formally committed to donate medical supplies to Haiti in the Fall. This shipment will include Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), hospital furniture, and other medical supplies.

School and Hospital Repairs

The Lalanne Foundation started raising funds for school repairs in 2010. After the disastrous earthquake of January 2010, the Haitian community was in dire need of repairs. We partnered with different organizations to raise funds for repairs of a few school campuses. We also donated soccer balls, science equipment, and art supplies to some schools.

Additionally, we are working to increase healthcare access for Haitians by rebuilding hospitals. We are identifying volunteers to lead the development of healthcare infrastructure and facilitate better healthcare services for the locals.

Below is a hospital in Aquin, south of Haiti, damaged in the earthquake of 2021. It hasn’t been repaired yet. Help us rebuild the infrastructure of this hospital in any way you can.

Education Sponsorship Program

In June 2022, Harris Lalanne requested people from around the world to get involved in The Lalanne Foundation’s Education Sponsorship Program. The program will fund the tuition of Haitian children in Trou du Nord, North-East, Haiti.

We plan to improve the quality of education with a well-rounded curriculum for first-graders in Haiti. The program also provides training for classroom teachers.

Our target is $23,241 for the Education Sponsorship Program, and we have raised a little over $1000. Become a part of this program by contributing $18, $36, $72, or any amount you can.
